Battle of Britan
The
Original RAF Jacket was designed by legendary American aviator
pioneer, Leslie Leroy Irvin. During WW2 the jacket was in such high
demand, materials grew scarce.
Irvin had to enlist subcontractors to
to fufil requirements and started producing his jackets in the UK.
This is where variations of the style and colour occured including
the Battle of Britian.
In the summer of 1940, the famous
"Battle of Britain" air battle took place over Southern
England and the channel
These jackets were worn during this event,
which is why these jackets are reffered to as the "Battle of
Britain".
Produced
by us exacly in line with original patterns. Our version of the
Battle of Britain
have their own coloring- a reddish brown
leather with a darker brown wool inlining, this distinguishes it from
the original R.A.F. Irvin Jackets.
